Subject: Fw: Hosting for Anthony

Lyle

Here is an update on what we are now charging students (and other MarbleTonic clients) for hosted domains.  If you look at NextMarble, you will see that MarbleTonic has negotiated the following special pricing
  • R200 per 12 months to host com, net, org, info or mobi domains
  • R140 per 12 months to host coza domains
Even at these special low prices, we still have profit sharing built-in for both MarbleTonic and those who clinch the deals (via the X4WD and X4VC funds respectively)

I will keep our offer to Anthony open at R120 for now, but only until MarbleTonic has sold the next hosting package at the prices quoted on NextMarble .  After that, Anthony will also pay R140 for his hosted domain

I still want to help past students get started

Grab R120.00 from him CASH, and MarbleTonic will get him a COZA domain, hosted for 12 months.  Tell him to hurry, because we are moving towards what we have posted on MarbleHosting

Don't push the MarbleHosting price too much though - not to our students - because one of the things MarbleTonic wants to do in the future, is help our students (and first clients like you and the other students) get started, and then STAY on very low pricing  <<<< WATCH THIS SPACE

Thanks for the advice Peter.  I'll let you know when I upload my website

Also, Anthony wants to know how much it will cost him for hosting a website.  He needs it for this year for his project.

Good work, Lyle!

(1)  Just pressing (or clicking) "Refresh" VERY OFTEN does not work.  To force a page to refresh properly (and PROMPTLY) you have to push and HOLD the "Ctrl" key, and THEN press (or clicking) "Refresh"

It's called "Ctrl--Refresh", AND I can remember teaching this to you and the other kids!!!  Did you forget?

What Ctrl-Refresh does, is clear the Internet Explorer cache for the current page.  Another way to force pages to refresh properly is to go to your Internet Explorer options, and clear the temporary Internet files

(2)  Good question!  You are ahead of me in this department!  Let me know when you find the answer!

If you REALLY can't come right, get back to me, and let's have a look at it

But if you can get good at this sort of thing, well.... let us put it this way: I have ALWAYS promoted how valuable database administrators are.  I can see lots of database questions coming up, that will need quality answers.  If you can find yourself in a position to start answering these questions, then YOU have a place in my future!

But isn't that what I made you promise me? ....that day at collage? ......that you would "always stay in touch!"

Regards

Hi Peter,

I managed to delete the installation folder, and the Joomla site work perfectly.
Thanks again for uploading it. And I also got into the database and that also works.

Just about the sacountdown website, when I tried accessing the site form another PC it just shows the Index of, what can I do to solve this?

Also about the database I will have to import it from my database from my PC(because that where all my work is stored), can I just do that in PHPmyAdmin using the import feature?

Cheers,
Lyle
